Call me a sucker for minimalism and clear desert skies after sunset. This was shot at the White Tanks park, just west of Waddell, AZ on the western side of Phoenix.
Even when there aren't any clouds in the sky, the Sonoran Desert can still put on a show. This shot was handheld, since my other camera was utilizing the tripod for a time lapse sequence. The wide angle lens I used compressed a beautiful transition of colors into one frame. I wanted to focus mostly on the dramatic color in the sky and not have the eye distracted by too much detail on the cacti or the mountain range.
